Doordashing as a College Student

Ever since the start of the Covid Pandemic, I have been Door dashing almost every day.  Although it may not seem like an interesting job, over the time I have been on plenty of adventures and met some really peculiar individuals, I'm so thankful that I was able to get accepted as a dasher before the application process became too saturated. Door Dash has really impacted my life in so many positive ways and has eased a lot of stress on me. It is a great job to have while in school and I really recommend any college student to apply to be a dasher. For one, you are your own boss essentially. You can work whenever you want and can stop at any time. This is a great feature because if I have too much schoolwork or have plans, I don't have to ask anyone for time off. I dictate my schedule and I'm in control of my workload. I also make more money compared to other college students. At my peak, I was making over $1200 a week. Door dash was so busy and there were so many orders available to deliver that it was basically raining money for me. Although it has calmed down and is not as busy as before due to the end of the pandemic, I still am making great money especially for being a part time worker. The weekends are the peak of the week in terms of money coming in and how busy it is. I try to work almost every day of I can but now that school is back in session, I'm not able to on Wednesday. Over time, I have been able to identify certain restaurants that are great for orders and also not great for orders. My favorite restaurant to go to is the Cheesecake Factory. Not only do those orders bring me in a ton of money but the servers are also really beautiful. I exclusively door dash in Rancho Cucamonga because they have a great number of restaurants and fast-food places. Not only is there a number of food places, but the residents also tip a great amount. One time I made over $60 on an order and it was literally the best day of my life. However, not every day is that great. Some days will be rough and not that busy. You may only make $50 and wasted a couple hours of your life. With that being said, the positives outweigh the negatives and I really enjoy door dashing as it really helps me put a great focus on school and my social life. I can even take out my money from the week at any time I desire. Door dash has really benefited my life and I am glad that I got in when I did. I have done so many things for myself from the money I've made during my door dash career. I don't plan to door dash the rest of my life, but the lessons I've learned from doing it will carry on with me forever. In the end, if you want a great job especially when you are a college student, I highly recommend that you do door dash. I promise you it will be worth it.
